Mills Brothers Fruit, Nut & Berry Premium Wild Bird Mix in Easy Pour & Store ContainerReviewsBeing a first-time bird feeder I wasn't sure how long it would take for them to be attracted to the feeder in my yard, but was pleasantly surprised to find several house finches at my birdfeeder within an hour of filling it with this seed. My kids have enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder and looking them up to see what kind they are. While this birdseed is a bit expensive, the payoff is having lots of birds around every day. Very happy with this purchase. The birds around our house seem to like this mix (it is the only one I've tried so far). This is an expensive, but perhaps the best quality mix I have purchased. There are REAL dried fruit pieces in it and it has high quality millet that the birds like and a wide variety of seeds and nuts. In our upstate NY home, it's attracted finches, cardinals, bluejays, redwing blackbirds, chickadees and more. Hardly any gets wasted unlike the large, cheap bags that are mostly (unliked) millet. Watch for sales or keep checking it out and it might get put into your gold box for about 2-3 dollars cheaper. Highly recommended. This is an excellent bird seed mix! It's loaded with good quality ingredients - not a lot of cheap millet seed that the birds don't want. The container's very convenient. The seed can safely be stored in a shed because mice and squirrels can't get into the container. Of course, this seed is on the expensive side. But, I was pleased with it. Average Rating:![]() |

RARE Hokkaido Black Watermelon 10 Seed-$6,100 per FruitReviewsnice bunch of seeds but the finished mellon is not usb compatible. like the ipad it also lacks applications. Blizzard was supposed to release the game "Black Mellon: the revenge of the demon seed" but it never happened -- so buy at your own risk. you can always eat the mellon if you don't like the weird user interface. Arrived in good time, and, in good condition. Fills another space in my garden. I intend to enjoy, as well as, sell the fruit. Thanks. Well, after much deliberation, online research and hand-wringing I took the plunge and ordered Hirt's Hokkaido Black Watermelon seeds. What I simply cannot fathom is how this company can sleep at night charging customers in excess of three dollars to send a half-ounce packet of seed through the mail. That's nearly three times the cost of the seeds themselves. C'mon Hirt's, stop fleecing the very people who are keeping your company in business. I am debating purchasing these seeds and have read the reviews. In the spirit of not downing the product, I have temporarily assigned 5 stars so I can post this. I am reading about lots of germinated seeds, but no photos of mature melons. Anybody want to update us? I would think if someone grew something this exotic that they would want to share. PLEASE DO! and I want to hear how it tastes, too. Thanks The seeds arrived as scheduled and in good condition. My only problem is that I was charged full price for shipping and handling on each packet of seeds ( I bought three) but they were mailed in one package. On a matter of principal, I don't think people should be charged for services they don't recieve. Average Rating:![]() |

TOKYO A jumbo black watermelon auctioned in Japan on Friday fetched a record $6,100, making it one of the most expensive watermelons ever sold in the country. In a society where melons are a luxury item commonly given as gifts, the watermelon's hefty price tag followed another jaw-dropping auction last month... |

AeroGarden 6-Pod Seed KitReviewsonly 4 of the 6 pods actually grew. the other two just molded. How old are these seeds? I have not been very happy with this product. The Basil is growing great but everything else has barely sprouted. I do think I will get much else other than the Basil. Love this product! Easy to use. Great results. Nice way to keep fresh greens handy. i set up my aero garden in december. i now have beautiful flowers growing in the middle of february. how cool is that? The aerogarden salad greens kit is phenomenal -- we planted ours on the 12/22 -- today is 1/11 -- and already it looks ready to be eaten!! Average Rating:![]() |

In Seed Comes FruitReviewsPoi has accompanied me through some of the best relationships in my life. I bought this C.D. after hearing only one song, and after listening to the rest of them.....wow. I bought this C.D. because I feel that I am on the verge of another new relationship beginning with someone. Poi always brings me good luck! Thanks people for the music you create- This has to be one of my all time fav bands, and this one...my fav song! Great Listen This is your typical beautiful poi cd. Even though it is a bit more synthesized than their earlier stuff, that's what I prefer. If you like liquid white light, natural thing, and their newer sound this cd was made for you. It is powerful...keep bringing it on pdp! There's a fine line between elevator music (so-called "Musac") and ambient rock, and at times this latest one from Poi Dog Pondering crosses the line. It's not that "In Seed Comes Fruit" is a bad album by any means. In fact, it's quite ambitious when combining world music with sly, pulsating techno waves and rolls. Indeed, like more mainstream acts such as Santana, Dave Matthews Band, and even Moby to an extent, Poi Dog encoporates nearly all types of music (world, jazz, etc)into each album (and occasionally each song). Whether melodic acoustic or soothing piano that resembles something off of an "Air" album, nobody can accuse this album of being narrow-minded. Unfortunately, however, that's where things stop. The music may be open-minded, but that doesn't mean it's inspired. By the middle of "In Seed Comes Fruit," the listener has heard everything the album has to offer. In a word, the music gets a little tedious. Unlike it's cousin, the rather silently brilliant "Natural Thing" album released several years earlier by Poi Dog, "In Seed Comes Fruit" is hardly a journey. None of the songs posess any real "groove" that wants the reader to, at best, keep listening and at worst, even stay awake. As other reviewers have said, the members of Poi Dog failed to liven things up at all on this album. Hopefully on their next go at it, they'll turn up the bass and speed a few tracks up a bit. Anything to give the listener something to move to rather than music that simply blows like a breeze (and a breeze that never really goes anywhere, at that). I'm a huge PDP fan so of course I was excited to hear their most recent offering. After hearing some of these songs live I was somewhat disappointed by the album. It's still pretty good but lacks the energy of its predecessors. It's a good album if you just wanna chill out and relax although at times - it's dangerously close to something you'd hear in an elevator. Average Rating:![]() |

Poi Dog Pondering s In Seed Comes Fruit is overflowing with ideas and energy, as the ninth line-up of Poi Dog Pondering takes up the experimental bend. The band weaves influences ranging from soul and Latin music to house, urban jazz, and alternative rock into a seamless fabric of sound that envelops the listener and sweeps them away... |

My Fruit PsychoBells... A Seed CombustibleReviewsSo there I was in a dingy CD shop looking at random cases that smelt like cardboard when up forth from the shadows arose this!! A naked man throwing fruit into the sea I said? Maudlin of the well the greasy man said? Toby Driver before he turned soft Bjorn said? And with that I decided to buy this magical album for the small price of 30 quid. Now a lot of people seem to dismiss this album as poor production, not noticing what a beautiful affect low quality can create on an album. No one seems to question shoegaze when it decides to crap out a loud hiss in front of a basic C Major Ic-V-I cadential progression. So why is this slated for it? Is it because you wish to marry Toby Driver and you want something by the altar of your neighbouring graves to say to say "Our first lovemaking attempt had bad production". You are all never satisfied. Luckily I was a Maudlin of the Well virgin at the time (well I had a few dips into Bath before but that hardly counts) so I was completely non-biased and unpopped. Instantly this album fills you up into the depths of an origami ocean pulling you deeper and deeper with the opener "Ferocious Weights". The brass instruments creating a rather organised march feel to it where we are allowing ourselves to plummet without the aid of Greg Massi's toilet plunger; though he does give us a rather quick shove with a guitar solo that comes out of nowhere but was still pretty darn satisfying as a climax...oh yes. So before the next track came up I decided to turn the volume up to maximum attempting to see if my deaf next door neighbour would be affected, as "A Conception Pathetic" begins with a chromatic swirl of guitar with Toby decided to give birth to a cat through his mouth; once the cat has finally protruded (it was a masterpiece just like everything else he made; but as usual it decided to freely download the fourth version of itself that wasn't heavy enough for most) Toby decides to sing like he's been hung over for two billion lovely hours while the harmonic progressions take a rather Arabian hint to them (oh believe me I can hear it...can you? No? Really? Well then I must be hearing things) until ending in a somewhat distorted nursery rhyme. Next track reveals a little light at the bottom of the ocean but on a side note; Toby sounds insanely high. Not just slightly high, not incredibly high. But merely super high. Maybe they put just a load of drugs in the saxophones and they blew out the fumes but Toby sounds really easy "Lay me out a while to wake" NO TOBY I WILL DECIDE WHEN I DO IT!!! NOT YOU!!! On another note it sounds like a lot of swans pecking on the slippery blades of grass running into the eyes of Toby as Greg decides to Jam in the sand sniffing seaweed until he passes out. Then they realise that they're meant to be somewhat heavy and structured so they create a simple melodic riff that beautifully intertwines in an awkward bitonal sense but then Toby decides to growl. HE GROWLS!!! And at that moment I realise why people think they sometimes sound like Opeth. I can hear it all there, the growling...the uh...guitars? OH MY GOD THEY BOTH USE GUITARS THEY MUST BE THE SAME!!!! This structure goes on for a while until they decide to bring in some random woodwind that was a lovely addition to the timbre until exploding again and then making a loud hiss of poor productions "hissssssssssssssss" and then I got a knock from Gladys telling me to kindly turn down the crapola I was listening to as it sounded like a dying talking snake jumping off a ramp in overdrive taking some amphetamine and then putting the samples of it on audacity and looping it for twenty hours. She's deaf though so I pretended I didn't hear her. Pondering a wall now seems to take a lot of confusing genre debates in my head. At some points I'm actually reminded of Deftones, which for some reason is a "no-no" comparison for me but it had an awkward mountainesque sound for it and I felt a sigh of relief when it finally released it's orgasmic tension to a gradual swirl of fluttering guitars. (Don't look up the youtube video for that song; it's surprisingly bad) Aaaah Catharsis of Sea-Sleep and Dreaming Shrines. What a lovely cooing experience you were; smoothly flowing in and out of a tension built yet airy guitar riff to thick sludgey power chords. All smoothly and dreamily brought into some of the most beautiful foreplay; oh the things Greg can do with his fingers are marvellous. You should come round sometime and we'll show you the magic. And as we are slowly pushed out of the ocean we reach the blight of the river system where you need to know one thing and only one thing. The solo in this song is AMAZING!!! Forget the crazy "indie" increased tempo breakdown, forget the fact that the female tries to take the lead in singing but Toby slaps her with a plastic fork. THE SOLO IS WHERE IT'S AT!! Untitled is a load of chimps in a basket thrown into a fish tank; they were trying to be more avant-garde. Overall this was by far my favourite MotW album; although not as fluent as Bath or as suddenly intense as Leaving your Body Map in the fridge for twenty minutes. It has varied genres and manages to keep my attention even after Toby has vomitted about 12 cats. Therefore Toby Driver comes #7 in my most interesting cat vomitters. Conclusion: Buy this regardless of what people say about one album being better for beginners, this is MotW. MOTW!!! Therefore it shouldn't matter if you decide to throw towels on people's heads. Why? Because we are Maudlin of the Well fans and we are above anyone for inexplicable reasons; just like the religion of Dream Theater who believe Toby Driver was a great prophet but not truly the messiah. I held off for a while on getting into this band because I thought they were silly. But that was a silly thing to do. They are a very creative bunch and their music on this album is extremely unique. The closest thing I can think of when I listen to this is Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine, which is still much different from this. This album contains male vocals (clean and growling), crisp clear female vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, and even clarinet and trumpet. Its production is definitely on the low end, but that adds a certain eccentric, vintage, nostalgic feeling. Bad production is part of the album, it adds to the overall feeling and atmosphere. I'm sure better production would sound, well, better, but it's not horrible like this. Their growling vocals aren't too great either, but they are actually quite sparse. When I first got this album, the things I was hearing sounded like I've had it for a long time, which was very odd, and never really happened with anything else. It wasn't like "oh, I've heard this before, it sounds exactly like this other bands song" - no, not like that. This was weird. It was kind of like I've had the album for many years and it was bringing back memories, or I knew it would be a classic in my collection someday. Three years later, I still enjoy this album the most out of the three Maudlin of the Well releases. Anyways, on to the music... They certainly have the strangest song titles I've ever seen. "Ferocious Weights" starts off calmly, eventually adding trumpets and then female vocals, the vocals are nice and smooth and soaring. Then the clean male vocals come, and shortly after that the song starts going crazy fast and all over the place. Then it suddenly gets very calm with some female vocals which is a good part. The clean guitar part just has that unique feeling on this album. The last part is a little heavier and closes the first song well. This is probably my second favorite song. "A Conception Pathetic" starts off with some psychotic growling for a while, later having some more unforgettable clean guitar parts, and keeps going back and forth. The melody at the end of this is almost evil-carnival sounding. "Undine and Underwater Flowers" starts off slow with awesome melodies and very soft, flimsy male singing. Then when this song gains more of a full sound, it is very strange, almost painting an alien landscape in my head with lovers swimming underwater gathering flowers on another planet. I promise I don't do any drugs, this band probably does though. "The Ocean, the Kingdom, and the Temptation" starts off calmly once again with an atmospheric feeling and then later has some heavier growling parts. This song is the longest and the last 3 minutes or so is an ambient experimentation. The first 2 minutes of "Pondering a Wall" is pretty heavy, and then it goes into some softer parts with female vocals, then it gets heavier with female vocals... "Catharsis of Sea Sleep and Dreaming Shrines" is my favorite song here. The clean guitar parts are just amazing, with calm growling (yes) on top it... I am really having a hard time explaining this music well, it is just too weird. You really have to hear it. "Blight of River Systems" is more of a laid-back song containing a duet at the end, and a very good solo. Probably my third favorite. Well, if you think you'd like Astral-progressive-Avant-garde-experimental Metal with Trumpets, this is what you're looking for. Although it is definitely an acquired taste, it is not without reason this band has an extremely dedicated following, and is already considered a classic in the avant-garde metal realm by many. ~2004/2008 IcemanJ Average Rating:![]() |

SeedsReviewsThis five track release is said to be an EP, but in fact it turns out to be the length of a full album. First two tracks, "Remember The Wind" (21:43) and "Chickaboom Cocktail" (15:36) are a bit different than the usual Sky Cries Mary music that I've heard but I believe I liked those two off this CD the best. Also, the multi-media track for "Chickaboom Cocktail" was nice. Wish this band would maybe reunite and do a full scale tour again sometime. Before I was ever aware of them, they played twice in my area. This album - amongst all other CDs from Sky Cries Mary - is a must. If you like this kind of music, then this CD is for you. Remember me the wind is an easy-to-fall-in-love-with song with Anisa's beautiful voice. Chickaboom cocktail is a completely different song. For me for the first time it was strange a bit, but now I like this one also. No doubt it is an interesting song. On the original CD there is a small film by Roderick accompanied with Chickaboom cocktail. I cannot describe it, you have to see and hear it on your own. Sonho is a nice song also. Is there anybody who knows in which language the song is? Cloud splitter is maybe the most SCM-like song. So the CD is great. The only problem is that it is just too short. And what is a much bigger problem, and makes me very sad is that Sky Cries Mary no longer exists. We won't get any new SCM songs anymore :-(If you like this CD, I recommend you everything from SCM. Their first two albums were made without Anisa, and they are a bit different, so first of all try This Timeless Turning, Exit at the Axis, A Return to the Inner Experience, Moonbathing on Sleeping Leaves and Fresh Fruits for the Liberation. The CD cover -I think- was made by Anisa and looks great. The cover is just like their music: very impressive. Their art is very unique. If you take the risk to open up yourself to their music, you will find yourself in a completely different world. This is a wonderful little EP. My only complaint is that it is so short--I would like a full album! There are four songs; the first two especially show new directions for SCM, but all are excellent. Buy it!--at this price, you can't go wrong. Average Rating:![]() |

AeroGarden Seed KitReviewsSo far we have grown herbs, lettuce, tomatoes... always easy. Cleaning is easy. Purchased a 3rd party nutrient system and things really took off. I find it optimal to add water every other day, or some pods don't get enough. Otherwise, slam dunk! Great product, great company. Today is June 29th and I began this adventure on March 1st, 4 months ago and the production expectancy for this set. The sprouting was slow, but the CS Rep from AeroGrow suggested I be patient. He said they would really take off once they sprouted. Well, they did and we were off to the races. So far, 1 mini jalapeno and 1 purple super hot have bit the dust completely. The second mini jalapeno grew huge but never produced a single pepper. Two of the purple super hots are still alive, but have never even produced a flower either. Both of the red fires are lush and have produced a total of 10 peppers so far. Considering the cost of electricity, the kit, the extra nutrients which needed to be purchased because there are not enough included, the replacement light kit, and the hours upon hours of talking to, touching, fertilizing by movement and a tiny hand held fan (CSR's suggestion) These are the most expensive peppers I've ever consumed. I'm thinking of transplanting these into my garden plot to see if they ever produce. I have one more seed kit (herbs) which I'm going to give a try and then I'm going to give up on this, and I'm not going to buy another set of bulbs even though it's advised. If you want alot of leaves which you do not consume, then this is the seed kit for you. I, on the other hand, wanted something to use in the kitchen. This is growing fine but I have the 3 pod model and the tomato plant is so tall that it is burning itself on the light. It said this plant was compatible with the 3 pod model but I'm not so sure.... Only two of the seven herbs grew. I was not satisfied with this product. Product states you can harvest after 3 weeks and keep harvesting for four months, but only enough nutes for 2 months. Liquid nutes come need to m]be mixed well before used because some nutes turned into a solid in the corner in the small bag. Will update as time goes on. Average Rating:![]() |

AeroGarden 3-Pod Seed KitReviewsGave a three-pod system with a cherry tomato seed kit as a gift. Nowhere in the description was it mentioned that only ONE seed pod came with the kit! Feels like a big rip-off! Yes, the tomatoes will take up more space than a petunia, but the company should warn people that the tomato kit only has one plant. Considering the price, you can get a lot of tomatoes at the store! We have had a couple of these with our 3 pod garden. Recently bought the herb kit to grow. Of the three pods, the chives we a dud. Have had the cherry tomatos in the past with great results. Just a bit bummed that the pod failed to grow. I will try contacting Aerogarded. We bought our Aerogarden at Christmas. It is now May and we have a whopping one cherry tomato that is almost ripe. The tomato plant grew quickly and in fact the leaves keep getting burned by the grow light because it is so tall. There are some other blooms on the plant now but at this rate our regular outdoor garden will be producing before we get any tomatoes off of this. (We thought it would be a great way to get tomatoes during the winter). We did Basil in another Aerogarden and it did fine so maybe we just got a bad plant. When I read the description, I assumed there was 3 pods of seeds in the kit. I had bought these as a gift for Christmas and when the person opened them up, there was only one pod of seeds in them. The description is very bad and does not depict what you are really buying. When I opened this packaging, I was more than a little surprised to discover only ONE seed pod and two spacers. Not at all what I was expecting based on my experience with the prior sets I'd received for about the same price which included three seed pods and three spacers. Now I have to order two more in order to fully use my aerogarden?? And to second what another poster mentioned: nutrient packets had a LOT of moisture -- evidence of poor packaging and/or poor storage. Disappointed that I can't start my next crop.... The Fruit and Nut Collection: A Sampler Pack of Bread Machine Mixes (4 Pack)ReviewsI sent the Sampler Pack of Bread Machine Mixes - Fruit and Nut Collection to my son as an Easter gift. He'd never tried using a bread mix before, but after tasting his first loaf he declared it some of the best bread he'd ever tasted! The Fruit and Nut Collection: A Sampler Pack of Bread Machine Mixes (4 Pack) I have finally gotten into the holiday spirit and started baking (fruit and nut breads / muffins this year) and decided to give these bread machine mixes a try. Love them! Delicious! And The Prepared Pantry gave me excellent customer service when I called and brought their attention to a couple of missing muffin mixes. The two muffin mixes arrived within three days. I will most certainly be ordering these again. I send this bread every year to my Dad for Father's Day as he has a bread maker and he LOVES this bread. Gotta do it! I love my bread machine and I love this sample pack. It is the best of this sort of thing I have ever purchase. There was not a dog in the entire collection. I confess that I did not buy these at this site (they were a gift) but I also confess that I will be buying more. I know for a fact that my friend paid much more for the ones she purchased that the ones offered here. Of course I am lucky, as even if these had turned out terrible, I could still have foisted them off on my dumb sister, who probably would have put ketchup on them and eaten them anyway. As it is, she will not get a bite. Highly recommend this product. No, I was not really kidding about my sister...she and her family of Neanderthals put ketchup on virtually anything and it would not surprise me if they did not slather it on this bread too. Sad, oh so sad. My stepfather is retired and has been enjoying making bread in his bread machine. I bought these for him for Christmas and both he and mother said they were excellent. I thought all the bread mixes I found were rather expensive, but these were comparatively inexpensive. Plus, he is always hard to shop for, so it was nice to find something I was pretty sure he would enjoy. Average Rating:![]() |

Young Scientist Series - Set 10: Seeds, Fruits, and other Plant Parts (Kit 28) - Eggs (Kit 29) - Owls (Kit 30)ReviewsOur 4-yr. old daughter got this kit as a birthday gift and has had a fantastic time doing the experiments with her dad. The pieces are well-labeled and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. They require a little parental guidance, but most can be started in a few minutes -- well within our daughter's attention span. She especially like picking apart the owl pellet and identifying the different mouse and mole bones. Growing brine shrimp also provided several weeks of entertainment as we saw the eggs hatch and grow. The kit also has suggestions for other experiments that use household items -- like dissolving an egg shell in vinegar. I highly recommend this kit to anyone who wants to give a child something more constructive, fun and educational than plopping him or her in front of the TV.
