Juniper Bonsai TreeReviewsI bought this tree about 2 years ago, it lasted me for about a year and 2 months which is amazing considering how (unintentionally) poorly i treated it. Sometimes it would go for days without watering (I have terrible memory for little things like that), but I think where I really harmed it was because I didn't set it very close to a good light source. But I have to say it is a very resilient and beautiful tree, perfect for people like me who want a little life in their room but don't have the knack for gardening. Purchased this for my dad for his birthday. He's the type of guy that already owns everything he likes. This was perfect for him, he had never thought of getting himself one. Not only did he love it, but everyone else at the party wanted one for their birthdays! I actually want one too! The price is great and this seller ivs you detailed instructions for care. Too cute! I purchased this item to spruce up my desk and bring a little life to my office. I was QUITE impressed with the shipping. I thought since the item was coming from a vendor outside of Amazon, it would take longer to get here. However the item was shipped and delivered within a few days. The item came in a small box, well wrapped and secured. There was no mess opening the package and the tree was carefully protected inside the box. Along with the tree came instructions on how to care for the tree. If you're going to buy a Bonzai tree, get this one!! I was impressed with the company, expediency, and care of the tree. I have had it for several months now and it is healthy and growing! I received this little beauty as a gift, and I couldn't be happier with it! The plant is healthy, robust, and despite my best attempts, has survived my 'green thumb!' I wasn't sure how individualized it would be, but the tree arrived and looked almost identical to the photo as advertised. It also arrived healthy. Average Rating:![]() |

Rare Tigger Melon 10 Seeds - Heirloom - Delicious -EasyReviewsThese are a bland fruit. They grew well enough, some seeds were a non-striped variety. They're just a bland, very small melon. All of my hirts seeds germinated. Im not why everyone is having a problem. I have my tiger melons germinated, transplanted and thriving like crazy. I also have most of the varities of black tomatos seeded, transplanted and thriving. I have had to give away some of my plants because i have too many! I also purchased the black watermelon and plan to give out those as gifts, they have all germinated and grown strong. I give hirts a 5 stars for everything all around great service, great seeds and i plan to buy the rest of my plants, seeds and anything else from hirts. Thanks so much this years garden will be prime! I absolutely love this melon! When everything was frying in the garden in June '08 due to a heat spike, this plant was growing 2" a day! It's originally from Armenia, whose summers average around 90 degrees a day- perfect in Texas! They look so unique I was sharing seeds with co-workers whose kids get the biggest kick out of the green/dark green striped melons as they turn to orange/light orange stripe! About the size of a softball, they do have a "cantelope type" taste, but better. And they're just right for an individual serving size. I was able to grow myself some decent tigger vines by 1) not even touching the seeds when the outside temperature drops below 60 at night (we're zone 9 bordering on 8, so we're ready in april) 2) very carefully using park seed starter domes (to further protect these delicate vines from cold, disease, etc) 3) vigorously soaping their transplantation area and then hitting them with fungicide weekly They hve a tendency to pick up any disease in the air, soil, or water, and very sensitive to temperature. Anything below 55 will stunt and then kill them. They're even worse than cantaloupes with respect to their sensitivity. Easy, no. But very satisfying. My children and I ordered a selection of really fun seeds from you. (Hmong Red Cucumber Black Sea Man Tomato, Rare Tigger Melon, Mexican Miniature Watermelon, Toga Striped Eggplant, Purple Cauliflower, Unwins Exhibiton 7 Pound Onion, Rare Red Bull Brussels Sprout) My germination rate has been about 25% or less. All my other seeds from other companies are doing wonderful on my tables, but my Hirt's seeds are in a category of their own, small, stunted, wimpy, or not at all. I will not be ordering from you again, and I'm sorry I wasted my money. Average Rating:![]() |

Cider Gum Eucalyptus Herb 20 Seeds - Eucalyptus gunniiReviewsI purchased these seeds, and I now have 7 lovely specimens growing. I have them out in the sun on sunny days, in a cocoa lined pot, and bring them in on cloudy/rainy days and they are under grow lights. The cocoa liner is so that I can transplant it into it's final place without disturbing the roots. I love the way the plants are looking. well i planted about 7 of wat looks like seeds, so i waited very patiently, took about ah month or more so to germinate, well only 1 sprouted out of the 7. Well it is currently about 6 or 7 inches so it smell like Eucalyptus so i guess it is.Just waiting to actually see it go blue. [...] Update : i don't think i hv the correct "Cider Gum Eucalyptus Tree", mine is still green/silverish, can some1 verify if this is the early stage of the plant? & will it eventually turn blue???? Avoid this seller unless you are seeking terrible, non-responsive customer service and unacceptable product quality. Many seeds I ordered never sprouted. One plant arrived near death, another was omitted from the order altogether. In spite of over half a dozen emails to customer service, no one has ever responded. 10% sprout rate is unacceptable. I read at a Russian website that the seeds must not be buried as they need light to germinate, also they're sown February-March and the soil has to be kept warm. Underwatering or overwatering is also harmful, and they need plenty of light and relatively low temperatures (about 18C in summer). Also clean air and no cold drafts, and they rarely bloom in a room. I think I'm going to try, because imagine a fairy blue bonsai :) And no need of Raid in the summer :P Many of the species require a cold treatment (stratification) for proper germination. You possibly received viable seeds but did not prepare them properly. Average Rating:![]() |

* Eucalyptus is an enormous and fascinating genus. It comprises over 700 species, and accounts for more than two-thirds of Australia's vegetation. It is unfortunate that they are frequently regarded as not being reliably hardy outside of the subtropics, because it discourages people from planting them in cooler areas... |

The Peppermint Tree and the Seeds of SuperconsciousnessReviewsThis album has a lot going on with it. I've been on board with Amorphous Androgynous/FSOL for 16 years now. This work here is so amazingly against the grain of the pop machine. The album could be written off as an acid rock nod to a by-gone era but I think there is a lot more going with this piece. I've been listening to it for about 4 months now and it was only last night that I really perceived the multiple layers of expression that are present with the album...There is a tinge more trip-hop here then we've heard of late from the duo. The snippets of trip-hop glory are succulent morsels of percusive ashram; harkening one to darker days for the group. I'm a hug fan of 'The Isness' and this piece seems a logical next chapter in that saga. I suppose 'Alice in Ultraland' was a next step as well but I can't say that I've become intimate with that piece as of late. The psychedelic torch was passed to these fellows and DRLX as well...he he...and with good reason. The gratuitous acid on the album makes it worth the expense all by it self. This album could be some 'avant garde BS' but actually it's a much needed look into a world that we all feel tugging at us...even if it is 'Most Illogical' I'm very happy with this album, it reminds me of many tunes from the late 60's, early 70's. If you are a fan of The Future Sound of London of the 90's I think there is much to be enjoyed here also. I give it a thumbs up and 5 stars. Take the last seven years of pyschedelic soundscaping hippie pyschedlia of both the iSness and Alice in ultraland then add some ISDN and alittle Lifeforms and you get this. If youre a fan of this period then you will be blown away. If youre not you should still really check it out as theres some deinite ISDN influence in here- more instrumental and darker at times. Incredible work once again from Gaz and co. I think this may top the Isness and thats no small feat- 18 tracks of out of worldliness with that unmistakable electronic pysche sound of the 60s and early 70s modernized for the new millenium. Tracks 2-12 highlight this new avenue they have been travelling- theres more rythmic drums and loops and more sitar. The albums opener is kind of misleading to what happens after it as it moves into more scattered but beautiful areas- Track 3 has singing etc but is fantastic sounding like dead can dance jamming with george harrison at Abbey Road. Track 4 and 5 sound like ISDn outtakes- great again. Some of the next tracks have a miles davis bitches brew vibe mixed with electronic. Overall its a must own for fans of electronic pyschedlia prog or just someone looking for music that goes beyond expectations. Average Rating:![]() |

Kabell Years: 1971-1979ReviewsI have gathered a few examples of Leo's editions down through the years. Being a 20th century music fan as well as jazz enthusiast i have no problem enjoying the sometimes totally new and unexpected turns in this rather experimental 'jazz'. His music may require rearranging your thinking when listening. In Kabell there are 2 cds which are solo and on the other 2 he is with other musicians though the approach to the pieces is more or less the same: sparse, distant notes and quick compressed passages against a wide and deep sound stage or background...be bop or traditional jazz elements are only suggested. There is no sense of time keeping though it seems much of this is written down (as the booklet shows). A true musician working in his own musical world. I would recommend this to the listener looking for something challenging, expecting rewards after a few repeated spins. Average Rating:![]() |

Slow Death in the Metronome FactoryReviewsDon't understand what the last reviewer meant... what is time for if not to listen to music ? :) This is one of my favorite compilations with tracks in a wide variety of styles, from the downtempo electronic lounge sound of Razor to the nuttiness of Space Rant, a banging groove from Electric Company and sweet melancholy from Flotilla, and much more, nearly all the tracks are solid. If you're into alternative or electronic music and are looking for something different, get it! The only way you'll really get into this collection of "underground" music is if you've got a lot of time to listen to it. If you don't, then I suggest you look elsewhere. Average Rating:![]() |

Almay Daily Moisturizer for Normal/Combo Skin with Grape Seed & SPF 15, 4-Ounce Packages (Pack of 2)ReviewsToo bad Almay chose to discontinue this product -- all moistuizers-- for that matter. I think it is a great product and will be hard to find something comparable on the market today. Yes, I know there are some out there but consider the money wasted on testing to see if you like the new product. This is the best moisturizer I have found. It leaves my skin feeling moist, but not greasy. I've never noticed any strange odor (as another review mentioned). I recommend this product to all my friends. I bought the combination pack which also included the cleansing lotion and the toner. I cannot recommend any of the combination skin care products. This moisturizer had an unappealing, chalky odor and did not hydrate well.Almay Cleansing Lotion for Normal/Combo Skin with Grape Seed, 4 fl oz (118 ml) (Pack of 2) This moisturizer is light and flows on easily and has SPF to boot. Sprig Toys Side Kick Vehicle - Baja ScoutReviewsThis was purchased to stop the fighting over the BIG Sprig. Very nice. Having not seen this, I would afraid it would be too bulky to push, but that isn't the case at all. My son loves all things that go. Toys for him are only those with wheels or self propel. We love the Sprig line and all that it encompasses. We have fondled the packages in Toys R Us many times over the past few years waiting for him to be old enough to really start playing with them. We opted for Christmas to get him this vehicle. I had no idea what to expect from its function, having skimmed over the description. When I found out that the manual pumping triggers the light, I was thrilled. No batteries, no noises, no incessant blinking. The more he plays with it, the more it lights up. PERFECT! The car feels sturdy, it even smells good! After struggling to open and dismantle a train package and those Littlest Pet Shop toys, to simply open a box, flatten it and recycle it was truly freeing. I think this one will be in our collection for a long while. Cool idea about the recycled material - but the advertising is very misleading. These "Side Kick" vehicles (Baja Scout and one other one) only have a little light on the driver's helmet - there is NO SOUND. The packaging on the box has this blurb: "G'day little partner! My name is Miki Flinders. Join me on an Outback adventure, listen to the didgeridoo, hear the wild animals of Australia including crocodiles...." So of course I think that is what the vehicle/driver do. But it's only the "Discover Rig" that includes audio capacity. Just be sure you realize that before you buy. The vehicle is cute and fun but I feel totally ripped off - I bought two of these so was doubly disappointed. We love this toy! My son and I can spend an hour playing with this! He loves the concept of being able to make the light get brighter just by pumping the back of the vehicle. I know this sounds crazy, but I love the smell of it, too! You can really tell that it's made of recycled wood! I will definitely buy the other two vehicles for more kid-powered fun. I mistakenly thought the car would move when you pressed the back down and let go. After receiving the car, I reread the description and it doesn't say it will move by itself. My mistake. Just be sure you understand what the car does and does not do before you order. Average Rating:![]() |

Dunecraft Dragon's LairReviewsDespite following the directions and enlisting the help of a friend that knows more about growing plants, indoors and out, nothing grew in this thing. Don't waste your money. This was a fun project to do with my 5yo. He is really into dragons and was excited to arrange all the seeds and dragon's lair inside the terrarium. The set of seeds that did sprout did so very quickly. We were able to see progress within the first week. This was good because it kept my son from getting bored with the whole thing. Unfortunately, only one set of seeds actually took. We did use up all the seeds in both packages so no opportunity to give the other seeds a second chance. We planted this kit around 6 months ago and the terrarium is still doing really well with little maintenance. We even went away on vacation and when we came back it still didn't need to be watered. We keep it inside on a window ledge that gets good light. Overall, I'm satisfied with what we have but would have liked more seeds to work with. My son loved putting the terrarium together and loved and the dragon lore, lava rocks, etc. Only time will tell if it will grow anything but he enjoyed the process of putting it together. Great item for the winter when you can't go outside and plant. We joke that my wife has a brown thumb because she has a knack for killing plants. She is also very into dragons so this seemed like the perfect gift to help her with her affliction. She thought it was a really cool concept and set it up per the instructions. In no time she had some of each of the plant types growing in different places. I would even get digital photos of the progress when I was traveling. She was hooked! The best part was that it barely needs watering with the lid on since the water is trapped inside. Over time, some white mold started to grow on the soil so I recommended she leave the lid off for a while to let the soil dry off. That cleared it up. The mold issue and lack of instructions on how to handle it are why I did not give the product 5 stars. Another reviewer mentioned the lid kept blowing off. This is an indoor plant. If their lid was blowing off they must live in a wind tunnel as ours was placed in a window ledge right by the front door and the lid never moved during our numerous comings and goings during the day. I bought this for my brother for several reasons; he loves dragons, he loves gardens, and he loves interesting things. This item was suppose to fill all three. We were very disappointed. First, whenever the instructions mention 'save some seed aside for later as there will be a lot of plants,' don't listen. MOst of the plants didn't sprout and what did sprout was only one type of plant and we used all the seeds and there was plenty of room. Second, the entire 'greenhouse' isn't very durable and the lid kept flying off. I finally just taped it down to get it to stay. The end result. We have a tiny dragon inside a greenhouse that we can't see (because it's a wet green house). We hve one plant out of three growing and not very well at that. The kids are not interested in the entire project becuase they can't see anything and the tape is kind of putting htem off the enitre project. Average Rating:![]() |

How a Seed Grows (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 1)ReviewsWe've gotten this book out at least a dozen times from the library, so I finally just bought a copy. We live in Phoenix, so we plant our gardens 3 times a year. Everybody gets their own garden with their own seeds. My youngest makes sure we all have a windchime in our garden, as well. And we always go through this book the week we plant -- even though my kids know the steps, the book makes it so interesting for them to follow along. The illustrations are really clear. For homeschoolers, this makes a nice tie-in for journaling -- you could even do measuring and charting -- and of course, what you grow, you can enjoy! We love this one and the "Magic School Bus" planting seeds books. The illustrations and text are not babyish -- this book is great. My daughter does like this book quite a bit. I was looking for a book we could just read at nighttime vs a book that included a science project of growing bean seeds. She did learn from this book and does request it even without our bean seeds, so it was worth it. Just received the book and am returning it. The book is clearly marked as a Stage 1 book "for preschoolers and kindergarteners." For ages 3 to 6. Amazon's description says it is for grades 1 to 3, ages 4 to 8. WE planted a vegetable garden and this was a great complement to doing the gardening and explaining how thing grow. My four year old grandson loves this book. We have been growing plants from seed on his windowsill and can't wait to try the experiment in this book. Average Rating:![]() |
